An Auldern Academy girl is…
Motivated. Unique. Courageous.
Student Life Mission Statement
The Student Life Department cultivates a nurturing, living, and learning community where each student can grow and gain confidence in her unique gifts and abilities. We strive to teach, both formally and informally, social and life skills necessary for success. Student Life Counselors help draw parallels between campus expectations and life after Auldern. When students engage in the Student Life program, they recognize their importance as individuals and develop a sense of purpose necessary to be confident, active, and courageous community members. Through this process of seeking independence and self-awareness, students grow towards a meaningful life with significant and productive connections with others.
At Auldern Academy, girls are encouraged to pursue their passions; become self-sufficient and acknowledge and nurture their strengths. An Auldern Academy experience fosters curious and independent leaders who are prepared to contribute as compassionate citizens of society. Our Student Life program provides a nurturing, structured environment where students can develop the life skills required for independent living while also learning to become a contributing member of the school community as a whole. Student Life staff provides supervision both on and off campus while serving as mentors, teachers, surrogate parents, counselors, and role models to students around the clock. These relationships are essential in fostering a sense of safety, security, and trust with our students. We are committed to providing a welcoming and comfortable environment that alleviates the stress of being away from home. Surrounded by a nurturing community, made up of peers, therapists, teachers, administrative and Student Life staff who encourage curiosity and independence, girls feel free to take risks to grow in bold and powerful ways. Our goal is to make each student’s experience on campus feel like home.

Auldern “Families”
Each girl is assigned to a “family” that coordinates with a specific therapists, student life and academic staff member. Families are also given a month during the school year where they plan community activities, events, outings, as well as community service.
On and Off Campus Community Service
Every Saturday the community does either on or off campus community service. On campus community service consists of planting flowers, cleaning vans, deep cleaning buildings, windows and chores. Girls with off campus community service privilege may volunteer at the Goat House, Care animal shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Tiger Rescue, local 5 or 10 k runs, Crop Walk and Special Olympics. The aim of community service is to allow students to develop self-esteem, self-worth, generosity, industriousness, cultivate empathy, and a spirit of altruism.
The Phase System
The Philosophy of the Phase system:
Apprentice: Initial phase upon entering Auldern. This is our trust building phase.
Humanitarian: Second phase, comes with more trust and privileges.
Ambassador: Third phase, girls move upstairs, trustworthy and independent
Leader: Fourth phase

Honor Code
