Sarah Belcher

Director of Student Life

Sarah Ann Belcher grew up in Westchester New York in a small town called Ardsley. Sarah was a very active member of her community participating in athletics, community services and student government. Sarah attended the State University of New York at Oswego where she was a four year defensive starter for the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and History with a minor in coaching. After school Sarah continued to follow her path of working with children and adolescents, from running a summer camp to coaching modified soccer and volunteering at the local boys and girls club. Sarah’s path brought her out of her comfort zone of her small town to Raleigh, NC where she found herself working in the woods as a counselor for Three Springs of NC wilderness program. After a year in the woods Sarah began working for a re-education state program, Whitaker School, in Butner, NC as a youth counselor. In March of 2006 Sarah was offered a position as a community support coordinator for a community support program where her cases dealt more in the court system and advocating for the juveniles and their families. During that time Sarah was promoted to Assistant Director where she continued to advocate for her adolescents as well as oversee the community support program and case managers.

Sarah’s passion has always been working with children and adolescents  to ensure they are receiving the best care both at home and in the community. Sarah has always been an advocate for children’s rights, but understands that structure and limits are important in a child’s life as well.

Sarah is a proud wife and mother to her daughter and son. Sarah loves sports, especially soccer, reading a good historical fiction book, going to the beach, and skiing. Sarah believes in the saying “treat others like you would want others to treat you or someone you love.
