Glenn Ritter
Glen Ritter has been the Academic Dean of Auldern Academy since August of 2006. He has been with Auldern since its opening in 2001. He received his BS in Geology from Southern Illinois University in 1982. He worked as a geologist for Gulf Oil where he wrote and published a paper detailing a new method of oil exploration. This method led to the only domestic oil discovery Gulf had in 1984.
A career change led him to become General Manager of the Lake Geneva Yacht Club, a world-renowned sailing center in southeastern Wisconsin. During this time Mr. Ritter was able to pursue yet another change in professions by substitute teaching at local high schools. He coached boys' and girls' middle school basketball for many years before moving up to girls' high school basketball as a head coach.
After moving to North Carolina he decided to teach full time and has taught Biology, Earth Science, Physical Science and Chemistry. Mr. Ritter is married to his wife, Lisa, a special education teacher and registered nurse. They have five children, the last of whom have just graduated from high school and are headed to college. Thus Glen understand our students from both a professional and personal view point, knowing well how to inspire them onto higher education.
