Spanish Language Classes

The unique flexibility of the Auldern Academy curriculum is reflected in our foreign language program.

We understand that it can be difficult for students to enter a Spanish class mid-year, so our focus is on the cultures of various Spanish-speaking countries rather than intense language training.

Auldern girls learn what it is like to live in a Spanish culture and learn practical language skills.

Spanish I
This course is an introduction to the Spanish language and emphasis is placed on oral and written communication skills. The class focuses on language and real-life situations and students gain the skills necessary to make friends and thrive in the Spanish-speaking culture.

Spanish II
This course focuses on language and real-life situations and students build and improve on the basic skills necessary to make friends and thrive in the Spanish-speaking culture.

Spanish III
This course class focuses on language and real-life situations. Students engage in conversations, understand and interpret written and spoken language, gain knowledge and understanding of various Spanish-speaking cultures. Students use the language both within and beyond the school setting.

Advanced Spanish
This course includes advanced reading, writing, conversation and grammar. The class focuses on the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. We use readings and lessons from the textbook, with additional readings taken from Spanish novels and plays.
